The Archbishop of Westminster, President of the Society, with the Chairman and Fr Robin Sanders and Mgr Keith Newton, Ordinary of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham

The Society’s work is coordinated by a full-time Director, Fr Richard Biggerstaff, who is based in Oxford. The Society’s District Organisers work to raise awareness by visiting parishes and being a first point of contact for those thinking of becoming Catholics and seeking the assistance of the Society. The Director and District Organisers are all themselves convert clergy. The activities of the Society are overseen by a Board of Trustees who meet regularly to assess the needs of applicants.

The Director

Fr Richard Biggerstaff

Fr Richard was trained for the Anglican ministry at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield. He was received into the Catholic Church in 1993. He was ordained priest by Cardinal Murphy O’Connor in 1996 for the diocese of Arundel & Brighton.

District Organisers

Dr Cyprian Blamires

Cyprian trained for the Anglican ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, and served two curacies in Northwest London before being received into the Church in 1979. After completing a doctorate in history and spending some years in academia he started working for the Society in 1995, combining the job with freelance writing, editing, and translating.

William Johnstone

William trained for the Anglican ministry at St Stephen’s House, Oxford. He served curacies in Plymouth and Sunderland and was received into the Church in 2001. As well as working for the Society he is studying classics at University College, London.
